Der Beitrag rekapituliert für ausländische Leser die Geländesituationen und den Befund im Zusammenhang mit Verarbeitung von Eisenerz auf dem Gebiet der Prager Vorlokationsagglomeration. Seit dem 9. bis in die Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts erscheint in diesem Gebiet ein ausgedehntes Netz von den überwiegend im Siedlungshinterland der Prager Burgen – der Prager Burg und des Wyschehrad zerstreuten Produktionszentren und Werkstätten. Ihre Anordnung verwandelte sich im Laufe der Zeit im Zusammenhang mit den sukzessiven Änderungen der Besiedlung. Die archäologischen Quellen belegen an mehreren Orten in Prag nicht nur die Eisen-, sondern auch die Bunt- und Edelmetallproduktion und ihre Verarbeitung. Nach der Befundauswertung hat man das Entwicklungsbild dieser Aktivität, Charakteristik der Produktion sowie die allgemeingültigen, mit der sukzessiven Entwicklung der Produktion seit den Anfängen der Formierung der Agglomeration bis zur hochmittelalterlichen Stadt verknüpften Zusammenhänge dargelegt. Man hat die spezifische und in mehreren Hinsichten einzigartige Rolle Prags in der Metallurgie belegt, die im Rahmen přemyslidischen Böhmens keine Analogie findet. Die archäologischen Forschungen im historischen Zentrum Prags bringen stets weitere Belege dieses ökonomischen Zweigs herbei, der für das wirtschaftliche Leben des frühmittelalterlichen böhmischen Staats so grundlegend war.

The article recapitulates the field contexts and finds related to the processing of iron ores in the area of the Prague pre-location agglomeration. From the 9th to the mid-13th century, an extensive network of production centres and workshops developed, mainly in the settlement hinterland of the Prague castles – Prague Castle and Vyšehrad. The location and activities of the production centres changed with the gradual development of the settlement. Archaeological finds document the production and processing of not only ferrous, but also non-ferrous and precious metals at many sites in Prague. After an evaluation of the finds, a scheme of the development of this activity, the characteristics of the production and the coherence of the gradual transformation of production from the early formation of the agglomeration to the medieval city is presented. The specific and in many respects unique role of Prague in metal metallurgy, unprecedented in the Přemyslid Bohemia, is demonstrated. Archaeological excavations in the historic centre of Prague continue to provide further evidence of this industry, so fundamental to the economy of the early medieval Bohemian state.
