BIM as a tool for building life cycle management
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Building Information Modeling, in the broader concept of Building Information Management, is becoming a potentially important technology for maintaining and unlocking knowledge, as well as for promoting collaboration between participants in both investment and communication processes throughout the building's life cycle. Building Information Modeling can never really be just technology, software, or 3D object modeling. It requires knowledge and understanding of a number of abstract modeling concepts. Additionally, it goes beyond mere technology and BIM can be considered as a method for creating almost non-redundant (where each information, each fact is included only once) of a model of any construction or building component. Such a model is sufficiently described to be able to carry out life cycle simulation before it actually transforms into physical reality. Furthermore, it is increasingly becoming a supportive tool in the execution of construction activities as well as the operation and use of the building. Thus, the term Modeling, as M in the BIM, is replaced by the term Management. BIM thus exceeds its initial origin as a "project superstructure" over 3D CAD modeling. It has to take into account a whole range of technical, economic, legislative and political aspects. It is thus a typical "management discipline" in which "hard systems" intersect with well-structured tasks (design, cost-creation, static calculations) with soft systems with poorly structured tasks discrepancy between the needs of construction participants). © SGEM2018.
