Watts and Wealth: Forecasting the Economic Pulse of Europe Through Electricity Consumption
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The association between electricity consumption and economic growth has evolved substantially in high-income countries, where energy-efficient transitions and sectoral shifts have contributed to a decoupling of the two. This study explores the predictive capacity of electricity consumption in forecasting GDP across six major European economies, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, using both traditional econometric techniques and deep learning models.
