Dittmara Bingela lze bez nadsázky popsat jako ztělesnění typického důstojníka kariéry gestapa. Již v mládí se aktivně účastnil nacistické mládežnické organizace. To vydláždilo jeho cestu ke kariéře v nacistickém německém bezpečnostním aparátu. V řadách tajné státní policie patřil mezi nejmladší vyšší důstojníky.

Dittmar Bingel can be described without exaggeration as the embodiment of a typical Gestapo career officer. Already in his youth he was actively involved in Nazi youth organisation. This paved his way to a career in the Nazi Germany security apparatus. In the ranks of the secret state police he belonged among the youngest senior officers. In spite of that he used to be entrusted with exceptionally important tasks, such as the interrogation of the arrested Protectorate Prime Minister Alois Eliáš. He was deployed primarily against the members of the military resistance, including the famous group of the Three Kings. He was known as a ruthless fanatic and a careerist who behaved arrogantly not only towards the Czechs but also his own subordinates. He personally participated in enhanced interrogations, during which he tortured the arrested resistance fighters. His promising career was stopped by the bullets fired by the Czech resistance hero, staff captain Václav Morávek, who crippled Bingel in a mutual duel. This encounter ended Bingil’s career and led also to a breakdown of his personal life. After his recovery he enjoyed a generous invalid pension and worked in the cinemas in Třebíč. After the end of war, he managed to use his status of a war invalid to get released from Soviet captivity to Germany. Nevertheless, he was discovered by the allied authorities and extradited to Czechoslovakia, where he was tried and rightly sentenced to the capital punishment.
