The effect of tetrabromobisphenol A on protamine content and DNA integrity in mouse sperm
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is commonly used as flame retardant and currently is among the most widely used; its consumption is around 210,000 tons/year and is still growing. TBBPA has negative effect on different mammalian cell lines in vitro and it is able to affect the thyroid hormone system as well it might be able to influence the androgen/estrogen hormone system in vivo. Thus TBBPA is considered as endocrine disruptor and its possible negative effect on human and wildlife health needs to be investigated. In our previous study we have observed that TBBPA is able to induce apoptosis of testicular cells and changes in the expression of genes playing important roles during spermatogenesis. Moreover, we observed that certain effects can be transmitted to the second generation. In this study we examined in more detail the effect of low concentration of TBBPA (35?g/kg b.w.) on reproductive parameters of male mice in vivo. C57Bl/6J mouse pups were exposed to TBBPA (experimental group)
