Results of national study of radiation exposure from radiotherapy of heel spurs
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this study was to evaluate radiation exposure of these patients. The evaluation of radiation exposure was based on measured organ doses, on data obtained from questionnaire (designed by the National Radiation Protection Institute), on data from the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic and on data from the General Health Insurance Company of the Czech Republic (which insures more than 50% of all insured persons in the Czech Republic). The results show that treatment of heel spurs represented 79.4% of all treatments in radiotherapy of non-malignant diseases on x-ray therapy units in the Czech Republic in 2013. The collective effective dose from radiotherapy of heel spurs in the Czech Republic in 2013 was evaluated as 77 manSv. It represents 25.6% of total collective effective dose for all diagnoses of radiotherapy of non-malignant diseases. Presented at XL. Dny radiační ochrany: sborník abstraktů. Praha: České vysoké učení technické v Praze, 2018. ISBN 978-80-01-06503-7.
