Comparison of Selected Procedures and Means of Personal Decontamination

This work introduces specific procedures and means for personal decontamination of chemical warfare agents and other dangerous chemicals. The effectiveness of selected procedures and means of personal decontamination (decontamination by sorbent, decontamination glove and cloth, two-chamber device, wiping with alcohol) was verified during the decontamination of anti-chemical clothing samples and steel plate coated with paint contaminated by agent VX, sulfide yperite, o-cresol and acrylonitrile, and was compared with the effectiveness of the device Desprach. Besides we made comparisons regarding user´s properties and economic parameters. On the basis of the results of verification of various commercial means we designed the kit called ?Personal decontamination means for firefighters (INDEHA)?. The book is primarily intended for the international committee CTIF (Comité Technique International de prevention et d´ extincion du Feu).
