A Transformation of Rural Architecture with Emphasis on the Development of the 19th and 20th Centuries

Anotace anglicky

The main aim of the project is to present conclusive and currently often endangered historical and artistic values of rural architecture as a national heritage. The project will be based on the research focused on the transformation of rural architecture with the emphasis on the development of the 2nd half of the 19th century and the 20th century, the period specific for its intense social and economic changes and so far not very explored from an art historical aspect. The research will be focused not only on individual chosen houses of rural regions, but also on the development of urbanism of chosen villages from individual regions of the CR. The results will be accessible not only to experts, but also to the wider public and students. 1.To create a database of information about chosen rural villages that is gathered from art historical pieces of knowledge, and documents received from the cooperation of art historians from the CAS, and the experts from the CTU. It will mainly be focused on villages, where the urban area is endangered by current changes and so far is not listed as protected. 2.To make the database accessible from specialised web pages, within which would be an interactive map of all monitored villages, corresponding historical maps and wide photographic documentation gathered from the information of the art historical research. 3.To present the research results in 3 unique exhibitions at the regional gallery and at the museum as well as within the premises of the NLT. 4.To publish 3 critical catalogues, based on the findings gathered about individual villages, the exploration of facts from accessible literature, archive readings, structural historical surveys and specialised maps and orthophoto maps. 5.To prepare a specialised workshop for architecture students in the scope of their tuition, about the care of monuments focused on surveying the architecture of rural areas and the support of sensitive architectural changes in contemporary villages.

Zhodnocení výsledků projektu

Projekt měl za cíl zdokumentovat proměnou venkovské architektury, a to s důrazem na vývoj v druhé polovině 19. a 20. století, období specifické svými intenzivními sociálními a ekonomickými změnami a zatím málo prozkoumané z uměleckohistorického hlediska. Výzkum bude zaměřen nejen na jednotlivé vybrané domy venkovských regionů, ale také na vývoj urbanismu vybraných obcí jednotlivých krajů ČR s akcentem na prezentaci v současnosti často ohrožených historických a uměleckých hodnot venkovské architektury jako národního kulturního dědictví byl řešen v souladu s harmonogramem. Všechny plánované hlavní a ostatní výstupy a valná většina vedlejších výstupů byla zrealizována a uplatněna.
