Intellectualy Gifted Children with Dyslexia
Project goals
Proposed project is conceptually and methodologically linked to the post-doc GAČR project, which postulated a hypothesis about the existence of suspectively significant socio-emotional problems of intellectually gifted children with a handicap, namely with the conduct and learning disabilities. Gifted children with disabilities form, according to competent resources, an extremely heterogeneous group of children, with respect to school and psychic problems, special needs and consequently with respect todiagnostical and interventional approaches towards them. The goal of the presented project is to conduct the individual clinical assessment of cognitive abilities (profile) of a selected group, to compare the magnitude of the disparities between theirstrengths and weaknesses, to describe, analyse and specify possible significant differences in teachers and parental evaluations of child s abilities and handicaps and consequently, to explain possible negative interference of these judgements with full

Proponovaný projekt navazuje koncepčně a částečně metodologicky na problematiku post-doktorandského grantu GAČR který postuloval hypotézu o existenci suspektně závažných sociálních a emocionálních problémů rozumově nadaných dětí s handicapem, nejčastějise specifickou vývojovou poruchou učení a chování. Právě tato skupina dětí bývá velmi obtížně identifikovatelná, nemůže vhodně kompenzovat existující dílčí handicap, ani rozvíjet mimořádné schopnosti, nadání. To se následně projevuje v sociální a emočnímaladaptaci a v neadekvátní evaluaci vlastních schopností i nedostatků. Hlavním cílem proponovaného projektu je provést detailní klinický výzkum k popsání typického profilu rozumových schopností u nadaných dětí s poruchou učení (dyslexií), k odhalení kompenzačních strategií a k výzkumu sociální a emoční adaptace těchto dětí. Navržený postup umožní zjistit a popsat, vliv předpokládaných diskrepancí mezi dílčími schopnostmi zkoumaných dětí na hodnocení školního výkonu dětmi, rodiči a učiteli,
