Neuroendocrine and neurophysiological changes in patients after brain injury.

Project goals

We will follow the levels of LH, FSH, PRL, E2, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, cortisol, TSH, fT4, progesterone and its brain metabolite, pregnanolone and its relationship to brainedema evolution in patients after brain contusion. We will verify if pregnanolone, which plays theoretically a role in the ethiopathogenesis of epilepsy, can have a predictive value in the genesis of epilepsy in patients after brain contusion.

  • Annotation in Czech

U osob po kontuzi mozku budeme sledovat hladiny LH, FSH, PRL, E2, testosteronu, dihydrotestosteronu, kortizolu, TSH, fT4, progesteronu a jeho mozkovÚho metabolitu pregnanolonu (HPO) a jejich vztah k vřvoji otoku mozku, co× dosud nebylo zkoumßno. Ový°Ýme,zda hladiny pregnanolonu (HPO), je× teoreticky m¨×e hrßt roli v etiopatogenezi epilepsie, mohou břt markerem budoucÝch neurologickřch komplikacÝ, zvlßÜtý epilepsie, u osob po kontuzi mozku.
