An atypical mild isolate HV5 of Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV) was found in the South Moravian viticulture region in Czech Republic. Partial sequence of its RNA2 was obtained and compared with available sequences of typical fanleaf isolates to reveal potential molecular differences. Two genomic regions were targeted for this purpose: i) 814 nucleotides long fragment spanning the movement protein (MP) gene and the 5´ part of the coat protein (CP) gene, ii) 1426 nucleotides long part of the CP gene and adjacent 3´non coding region (NCR). Although no HV5-specific molecular features could be located in the regions coding MP and CP, larger difference among GFLV sequences was observed in the 3´NCR region. There was a 54 nucleotides long portion in which thedifferences between individual sequences reached 54.7 %. Moreover, a unique one-nucleotide deletion occurs in the HV5 NCR. V oblasti Jižní Moravy byl nalezen výskyt mírného izolátu viru roncetu révy (GFLV). Byly získány dvě částečné sekvence jeho RNA2. První úsek 814 nukleotidů dlouhý zahrnuje gen pro transportní protein a začátek genu pro obalový protein. Druhý úsek 1426 nukleotidů dlouhý zahrnuje druhou polovinu genu pro obalový protein a 3´nekódující oblast RNA2. Velké rozdíly oproti známým sekvencím tohoto viru byly nalezeny zejména v nekódující oblasti, kde se izolát HV5 lišil až o 54,7%. Vyskytla se zde i delece jednoho nukleotidu. Pozorovaná změna fenotypu viru, tj. bezpříznaková infekce, tak může být vázána právě na tuto popsanou změnu genotypu.
