Current labels indicate the dosage of cockroach bait per unit of area irrespective of pest population density. We, therefore, explored the effect of two bait doses and population densities (10 and 50 individuals per arena) of German cockroach on the efficacy of three commercial baits (Maxforce- White, SchwabEX-Gel, JuvenEX-Gel) under laboratory conditions. We found that with decreasing dosage and increasing cockroach density the speed of action and efficacy decreased in all tested bait products. It is suggested that the label instruction for bait dosage should include a corrective factor for cockroach density per treated patch, thereby ensuring (i) bajt consummation by all pest individuals present, and (ii) the full control potential of the par- ticular bait product.
