Original language description
A new species, Fugomyza buccata sp.n., has been found in the eastern USA (New York, District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida). This is the second member of the genus Fungomyza Roháček, 1999, originally established for the European F. albimana (Meigen, 1830). The discovery of the new Nearctic species expands the distribution range of Fungomyza to the Holarctic Region and allows refinement of the taxonomic limits of the genus. A new generic diagnosis is presented and F. buccata sp.n. is described, illustrated and its relationships and probable association with fungi are discussed.

Czech description
Nový druh Fugomyza buccata sp.n. byl nalezen v několika státech východní části USA (New York, District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida). Jde o teprve druhého zástupce rodu Fungomyza Roháček, 1999, který byl původně ustanoven pro evropský druh F. albimana (Meigen, 1830). Objev nového nearktického druhu tak rozšiřuje dosud známý areál rodu Fungomyza na celou Holarktickou oblast a zároveň umožnil upřesnit jeho taxonomické hranice. Je proto podána nová rodová diagnóza a druh F. buccata sp.n. je podrobně popsán a vyobrazen a diskutovány jeho příbuzenské vztahy s druhem F. albimana i pravděpodobná trofická vazba na houby.
