On Ependymomas and SOX10
Original language description
In their recent report in the JNEN, Dr. Kleinschmidt-DeMasters et al mentioned our report as the only prior study identified by these authors that had investigated SOX10 immunohistochemistry (IHC) in ependymomas (EPN) (1,2). We are pleased that Dr. Kleinschmidt- DeMasters and colleagues identified our report and note that the results presented in our papers are fundamentally consistent in spite of different scoring criteria for SOX10 positivity. They stated, however, that our report was, ". . .only in conjunction with Olig2 and without specific details as to the skew of ages and anatomical locations of the cohort" (1).
