Relations between behavioral risk factors and genomic constitution in essential hypertension
Original language description
The aim of the study was to associate alleles and/or genotype of the candidate gene polymorphisms for essential hypertension with some known cardiovascular risk factors as blood pressure parameters, smoking, alcohol consumption, obesity, type A behavioral pattern score and emotional load in 202 hypertensives and 196 normotensives subjects. No significant association among the gene polymorphisms and normotensives-hypertensives, blood pressure parameters from ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, smoking, salt consumption, alcohol consumption, BMI were found when single gene differences were calculated. When genotype concurrence of the two polymorphisms was evaluated, marginal association with TABP score was found(P=0.030). Three genotypes (IITT,IDMT, DDMM) were found more frequently in subjects with higher emotional load compared to the other genotype combinations (P=0.064).
