Original language description
The term "wild" yeasts is used for any yeasts other than culture brewers yeast. Wild yeasts can be detected by several cultivation methods. We tested a total of 6 media for the detection of wild yeasts and/or their differentiation from culture bottom ortop brewers yeast. Our work was focused on surveying different cultivation methods for the detection of wild yeasts and on the photographic documentation of colonies of selected culture and wild yeasts growing on available media. The study was performedwith a set o more than 80 strains of culture brewing and wine yeasts and yeast contaminants of beverage andustry. The practical uselfulness of the media in brewery laboratory was evaluated.
