Tourism Development and Regionalization in the Czech Republic on the Threshold of a New Century

Original language description

The goal of the contribution is to report about the development and regionalization of tourism in the Czech Republic on the threshold of a new century. The contribution has been divided into three parts. The first part is focused on presenting general statistic data (e.g. economic indicators of tourism) and figures about inbound and outbound tourism in the Czech Republic and in Czech regions. The other part of the contribution deals with the process of regionalization of tourist destinations within theCzech Republic, including graphic presentation of determinate tourist regions and their attractiveness. Final part delineates current trends in Czech tourism. Furthermore, it evaluates the influence on the development of tourism caused by the membershipof the Czech Republic in the European Union.

Czech description

Cílem příspěvku je referovat o rozvoji a regionalizaci cestovního ruchu v České republice na prahu nového tisíciletí. Příspěvek je rozdělen do tří částí, z toho první se zaměřuje na statistické ukazatele a hodnoty výjezdového a příjezdového cestovního ruchu v ČR a v v jednotlivých regionech. Druhá část příspěvku hodnotí proces regionalizace turistických regionů. Závěrem příspěvku jsou prezentovány současné trendy cestovního ruchu v ČR, včetně vlivu vstup do Evropské unie.
