Impact of Open Source on Recruitment: Case of Digital Companies
Original language description
The article deals with current recruitment problems in digital companies, specifically talent shortages and lack of desired HR skills on one hand, and involvement in open source collaboration on the other. Recruitment and open source have been extensively documented and researched by academics. However, the two have not been brought into the same context with a direct connection, which is the gap and opportunity we are trying to fill in with the description of the current state, research and its interpretation in this article. The contribution of this paper is to point out new perspectives in skilled human resource recruitment and to prove that open source softwares and specifically open source involvement can successfully solve some of the current recruitment problems in IT companies.
