In the paper, the authors are engaged in the basic communication interface of e-commerce systems, which are e-shop web sites. There is presented the need for presentation of information on Internet as a part of business marketing strategy. The main attention is paid to the commercial sector, but these issues can be topical also in the non-commercial sphere. In this context, the corporate social responsibility, which can be used to gain a competitive advantage in the market, is mentioned. The key area tosupport the success of all types of web sites is the issue of their accessibility. The paper presents monitoring and evaluating the accessibility of selected group of e-shop web sites using selected methods. The evaluation was conducted in accordance with the recommendations of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and conditions arising from search engine optimization.
