The paper deals with activity testing of rosin fluxes. Molten rosin is weakly acidic and is able to dissolve thinner layers of surface oxides from copper. The area of spread test was used for evaluation the contact angles. Seven rosin fluxes were compared and their impact on solderability is discussed.
