One variety of common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) and one variety of tatary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) were tested in field experiments in České Budějovice. The height and dry matter of individual parts determined and the number of fullachenes and thousand-achene weight (TAW) were counted. The yield was determined after harvest with a harvester.Tatary buckwheat can be a suitable alternative crop, whose yield can be better than common buckwheat especially in areas with enough precipitation and medium soil.

Czech description
Jedna odrůda pohanky seté (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) a jedna odrůda pohanky tatarské (Fagopyrum tataricum) byly testovány v polním experimentu na stanovišti v Českých Budějovicích. Byla sledována výška rostlin, sušina jednotlivých části rostliny, počet nažek, hmotnost tisíce nažek a výnos. Pohaka tatarská je vhodnou alternativní plodinou, jejíž výnos bude vyšší než u pohanky seté především na stanovištích se středně těžkou půdou a dostatečně zásobenými vláhou.
