Neutral sugar bonding in fungal polysaccharides
Original language description
Polysaccharide fractions were isolated from fruiting bodies of wild and cultivated wood-decay fungi (Piptoporus betulinus, Phellinus alni and Inonotus obliquus) and analysed by chromatographic methods. Neutral sugars composition of fractions was estimated after acid hydrolysis by both high performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD) and gas chromatography with flame ionisation detection (GC-FID). Sugar linkages in the polysaccharide fractions were studied bymethylation analysis on both GC-FID and gas chromatography with mass spectroscopic detection (GC-MS).
