Semi-crystalline polymers: Reconstruction of morphology and modeling of diffusion transport
Original language description
The goal of the experimental part of this work is the systematic investigation of the semi-crystalline lamellar morphology of polyolefin samples by AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy) technique. Except the compact samples of PE the porous samples were also investigated. Samples of PE were etched in oxygen plasma or in permanganic solution for various times to selective remove layer of amorphous phase and to uncover the crystalline structure of lamellae. The results of AFM images of samples etched in oxygen plasma are more suitable for statistic converting in computer program. The advantage of wet (permanganic) etching is information about the long range coordination of lamellae structure. These informations of spherulite geometry are blanking by fleet etching in oxygen plasma. Images of lamellae structure depend not only on sample properties, but also on AFM parameters of scanning and on etching time, i.e., on the thickness of the layer of amorphous phase being removed prior to AFM measureme
