Omega 1 subunit of RNA polymerase (RNAP) is a unique protein from Gram-positive bacteria with no homology in other bacteria. Despite its importance, omega 1 has not been studied yet and its function is unknown. The aim of this work is to resolve the structure, position on RNAP and mainly its function in the cell. The current state of the project will be presented and discussed
