I Theory and practical application of preschool education in terms of curriculum context used in the Czech Republic
Original language description
For centuries it has been accepted that preschool age is a period of immaturity and imperfection and small children were given a certain degree of freedom and leniency. The basis for compiling the content of the daily life of children in public preschool institutions was the nearest natural, material and social environment. In spite of an extraordinarily high number of children in some of these institutions, the responsible adults respected the specific development features, children's personal characteristics and also the social reality of the individual children. However, the operation of first preschool institutions has shown that even in this period intentional educational activity maybe successfully applied. An educational tool became a sophisticated content accumulated in the first curriculums used for preschool education.
