The article describe the basic information about the near proximity sensor for mobile robot based on emitting and receiving the reflection infrared light from obstacle. This sensor is called as near-infrared proximity sensor and it detects only presenceof obstacle. There is demonstrated the improving of near-infrared proximity sensor for discrimination of the distance of obstacle.
