The committed and competent workforce belongs among key factors affecting company success. Employee performance depends on knowledge, work conditions and their motivation to work. The employee motivation depends on stimuli, which are present in the individual's environment or used by other people in order to reach desired change in individual's behavior. The way of motivation became especially important in industrial companies in recent years, because of economic decline. As each effort made by the employer to stimulate employees implies additional costs, it is necessary to know in advance particular factors, which are appreciated by the employees, to be effective. The following article brings an overview of the pilot study carried out on a group of industrial enterprises and deals with assessment of the impact of specific factors on employee motivation to work.
