    Numerical Modeling of the Casting Process of Alloyed Steel 34CrMo4

  • Original language description

    This paper presents a numerical simulation of the casting process of alloyed structural steel 1.7220 (34CrMo4), commonly used for mechanically stressed components. The MAGMASOFT® software was employed to model key stages of the process, including mold filling, solidification, microstructure evolution and the prediction of internal defects. Attention was paid to the correct definition of material properties, mold geometry and boundary conditions to ensure reliable results. The simulation incorporates physical models of heat transfer, melt flow and phase transformations, enabling effective prediction and reduction of casting defects prior to production. This approach supports optimization of technological parameters, reduces development time and improves casting quality.
