Current practice requirements show that competency models are increasingly becoming part of evaluating the work of employees and significantly contribute to the objectification of the remuneration system and human resource management in the organization.Modern trends in human resource management progressively press for a comprehensive assessment of employees based on the networking the performance model with the competency model. This is also true in the field of project management. This paper aims toestablish and evaluate the competency model of the project manager, to determine importance and evaluation of individual groups of competencies represented in this model. There is a number of project organized and managed companies in the Czech Republic.Each of them requires professionalism in project management from its employees.
