Association of chronic stable angina pectoris with MCP-1-2518 A/G single nucleotide polymorphism in the Slovak population
Original language description
Polymorphic gene variants in chemokine MCP-1 (CCL2) gene were determined by PCR-SSP in 151 patients with chronic angina pectoris (AP) and in 449 healthy subjects, both of Slovak ethnicity. The frequency of MCP-1-2518 GG homozygous individuals was increased in patients compared to control subjects (p=0.003); the increase was more pronounced in males and it was present both in early and late AP. The reported observation implicates the tested polymorphic MCP-1 gene variant in chronic AP, at least in patients of Slovak ethnicity.
