Original language description
The paper presents the results of a study aimed at the correlations between selected personality traits, life satisfaction and its components with respect to the length of teaching experience in current teachers in the segment of elementary education. The survey included a total of 204 Czech teachers (100% women) from elementary schools. The average age of the monitored sample was 42.7+-8.19 years. The results of the study indicate that female teachers report lower values of overall life satisfaction compared with reference values. The personality trait of neuroticism significantly negatively corresponds with the overall level of life satisfaction. The level of extraversion and conscientiousness significantly positively corresponds with life satisfaction in female teachers.
