    Career Anchors of Pre-Service Teachers in Context of Their Personality

    The present research focused on monitoring the attitudes, values and motives of pre- service teachers in the Czech Republic. To obtain the necessary data we used a career anchor questionnaire developed by E. H. Schein and Personality questionnaire NEO Five factor Inventory. The sample consisted of 465 pre- service teachers. The results suggest that pre- service teachers belong to a group who predominantly have a need to combine career and their lifestyle, which plays an important role in the balance between work and private (family) life. These individuals often prefer personal life. Another important need is to work for &apos;reliable&apos; organizations (often government), which provide a degree of certainty which these people also look for. The results provide further evidence that Conscientiousness and Extraversion are dimensions of personality related to the Life style anchor.
