    Bisulfite genomic sequencing and restriction analysis were used to localise 5-methylcytosine residues in 5S rRNA genes of Arabidopsis thaliana and Secale cereale. The maps of methylcytosine distribution were compared with the previously published map ofthe corresponding region in Nicotiana tabacum.
