The U-Shaped Footbridges Made of UHPC
Original language description
This article presents an overview of existing U-shaped footbridges made of UHPC. The construction system of the referenced footbridges is usually designed as a transversely divided structure made of precast segments. The article also deals with the development of an innovative construction system for U-shaped footbridges made of UHPC, designed as longitudinally divided structure, each main beam as one element for the whole span of the footbridge in span range from 20 to 40 m. The footbridge consists of two separate precast prestressed beams made of UHPC connected and stiffened by bridge deck. The bridge deck consists of precast UHPC elements. The prefabrication represents the benefits of generally higher quality of the structure and higher speed of the construction. These structures represent the benefits of a small construction height. There is no need to assemble the falsework and the formwork in situ.
