    Influence of EGR and Mixture Heating on the Working Cycle of the Engine in Low Load

    Within the framework of R&D activities, the possibilities for pumping losses decreasing at the low load engine operation have been investigated. The goal of this research is to increase the effective efficiency by decreasing of the pumping losses of engine in the low load. The pumping losses have been decreased in two ways during the experiments - by the uncooled recirculated exhaust gas (EGR) delivery and by the mixture heating using special designed heater. Changes in cylinder working cycle caused byboth, the EGR and the mixture heating, will be described in the article.
