    Different laser transitions originating from 6H9/2+6F11/2 level suitable for 1.32 um pumping were investigated. Lasing at 5.5 um and 2.4 um with maximum pulse energy of 107 uJ and 2.35 mJ, respectively, were obtained at RT. Also low temperature spectroscopic and 2.4 um laser properties of Dy:PGS laser material were described. The results have demonstrated that decrease of the temperature does not influence strongly the absorption spectrum of Dy3+ ions. Nevertheless, at LN temperature the lasing threshold strongly decreased. Decrease of the losses, introduced to Dy:PGS cavity by vacuum chamber, should make quite possible the more efficient generation of 5.5 um as well as 2.4 um radiation.
