Some approaches to design of self-tuning controllers: algorithms and comparison
Original language description
The aim of the adaptive control is to solve the problems of controller design for systems with not completely known or changing characteristics. One of the successful and perspective directions is represented by self-tuning controllers (STC). The self-tuning algorithms proposed here utilise the recursive identification procedure for estimation of parameters of inherently continuous working controlled plants. The identification part of the designed controllers is utilises the recursive least squares method (RLSM) using directional forgetting. The parameter estimates are used for the calculation of controller parameters. These parameters serve for computation for the controller output in sampling periods. The pole placement method is used for the controller synthesis in this paper. For the design of the self - tuning controllers can be used following modifications: in the continuous-time domain, discrete domain, delta modification and in combined approach. Four modifications of the self-
