Original language description
The basic area of research is the synthesis and study of fluorescent dyes based on substituted 4-(1-adamantyl)quinoline. The procedure involves the preparation of 1-adamantyl(phenyl)ketone, nitration and separation of ortho regioisomer, reduction to theamine and finally condensation with ?-activated carbonyl compound. The prepared compounds are expected to absorb electromagnetic radiation within the UV wavelength range. The UV/VIS absorption spectra were measured for all new compounds and, moreover, their UV and visible fluorescence was studied by steady state fluorimetry. The relationship between molecular structure and spectral properties is discussed.
