Memory fibers. The past and the present of Vamberk lace-making

Anotace anglicky

The main objective of the project from the sphere of movable heritage, is to create fundamental tools and methodological procedures necessary to preserving, protecting and conserving a partial feature of the national cultural heritage belonging to the most endangered typological groups.The project targets at the systematic analysis, documentation and presentation of the lacemaking in the area of Vamberk. The analysis of the development of the lacemaking and its historical and artistic personalities shall complete basic tools of the identification and documentation, thus being instrumental in removing deficiencies in the current imperfect registration and documentation of the heritage values of laces and lacemaking, as well as in considerably improving the communication of such values at home and abroad. The project of three participants with the main thematic priority No.1, developing it in the area of protecting the most endangered typological groups of the national movable cultural heritage. The interpretation of the acquired knowledge will be presented by means of three exhibitions enhanced with critical catalogues. On the basis of the established knowledge, will be created a methogology for the following spheres: conservation, systematic protecting, appropriate presentation and utilisation in various memory institutions, by state and private owners or restorers. The exhibitions will be aimed also for artists, designers, schools, courses of folk art and textile companies. This outputs constitute the fundamental professional and scientific disposition for presenting the theme of lacemaking at Vamberk by public institutions, in particular, by the Hradec Králové Region and the Town of Vamberk, that successfully initiated the inclusion into the List of Intangible Elements of Traditional Folk Culture of the Czech Republic.
