Presentation strategies for museums and its collections. Methodology of development and design of innovative museum exhibition

Anotace anglicky

The project focuses on museum exhibitions as a formative element of national cultural identity, as a basic museum function, and also a key communication tool. The project is based on research of the exhibition activities of local history museums since 1990, its formal and content changes. The project analyzes and seeks parallels in the diachronic and synchronous levels. It examines the specific role of exhibitions in the process of preservation, documentation and interpretation of national cultural heritage. Fundamental attention will be paid to the changes in the role of the museum and its exhibition activities in the last 30 years (since 1990), when new methods and elements enter the process of presentation and interpretation in connection with the rapid changes in society and ICT. The mail goal of the project is the analysis, evaluation and methodology of creating exhibitions. Another goals are: - to redefine the exhibition as a basic presentation form of museums, to design a new typology of exhibition projects (including virtual ones); - to define the basic principles of exhibition development, to create a comprehensive methodology for the preparation and implementation of exhibition projects, including the various stages of creating exhibitions (not only the formation of scientific content, but also financial management), to its internal evaluation. The role of the exhibition as a communication tool of the museum will not be neglected (marketing, communication strategies, social networks, etc.). At the same time, the project will focus on the design of external evaluation procedures for exhibition projects. Attention will also be paid to exhibitions as a scientific result. Exhibitions (Ekrit) are a significant applied result of a number of projects. The aim of the project is to map and evaluate these results, and to contribute to the proposals of evaluation and reflection of exhibitions within the management of science.
