Anotace anglicky

The aim of the proposed projects is testing yeast dietetics for a combined supplementation with iodine and selenium developed formerly at the applicant's laboratory. The dietetics should help to eliminate deficiencies of these elements in Czech Republic.The preparation will be tested on rats. The influence of the combined supplementation on levels of Se-dependent enzymes, thyroidal hormones and other biochemical parameters will be determined in the experiment. A clinical trial should also test effects of the supplementation on thyroid function and size. Serous TSH, FT4, FT3, and glutathionperoxidase levels, serous and urinary Se levels, and urinary iodine level will be determined before, during and after the trial. The effect of the combined suppleme ntation with both the elements will be determined using two-factor ANOVA.
