Anotace anglicky
The Bohemian Crown is one of the state systems that were built on medieval constitutional relations between the ruler of the central land, in this case the king of Bohemia, and another independent territory. The role of the monarch, in fact the sole relevant representative of the established system, was maintained even in the early modern times, because there was no adequate estate institution, which might represent this relatively free union of the lands, frequently referred to as a conglomerate state. It is therefore important to follow concrete mechanisms of execution of the rule, which included the royal administration and various forms of the ruler´s representation. We have chosen Upper Lusatia for our research, because this issue has not yet been fully processed for this territory. The project will focus on the entire period when it was connected to the Bohemian Crown. Our research will be based on written and material sources and the historiographic tradition, which is unusually rich in the Upper Lusatian towns as regards the early modern times.
