Theory of processing higher-order geopotential gradients and their applications in geodesy

Anotace anglicky

In recent years values of geopotential gradients became observable. Mathematical models and computational techniques for processing higher-order geopotential gradients must be developed including their transformation and/or continuation. Fundamental solutions were developed in the last three years using integral-form solutions of potential theory. Respective integral kernel functions were derived using spherical and spheroidal approximations. Their spatio-spectral properties were analysed and mathematical models were tested using synthetic data. To explore the full potential of this theoretical apparatus for processing large amounts of noisy and heterogeneous data, the fundamental solutions must be modified and completed for additional tools in order to allow for heterogeneous data combination, noise propagation, stable evaluation of inverse problems and for truncation of integration domains. Two applications of the new apparatus related to global height referencing will be tested.
