Anotace anglicky
This project discusses the relationship between Czech society and the country in the 1970s, on the basis of critically viewed postcolonial approaches. It is based on discourses, representations and ideologies constructing the specific nature of villages (constructs of the village) leading to the characteristic treatment of this space, while legitimizing it in parallel. However, the project does not stop with the identification of a unilaterally viewed relationship between Czech society and the village in which villages and their inhabitants were mere objects. The project also involves research into whether village people used these constructs as well, and if so, whether they modified them in any way (e.g. in their meaning or function), and what objectives they were expected to achieve. In addition, the project will focus on the study of the degree of influence of these constructs on particular behaviour of people from different social groups. Project outcomes will be published in peer-review journals (7 journal articles).
