Adolescentní zkušenost: Mladí Češi v a po období společenských změn

Anotace anglicky

We intend to explore the influence of social changes on the process, content, and context of everyday life experiences and self-definition in middle adolescence. We start from our comparison of four cohorts of Czech adolescents (from 1992, 1995, 2001, 2010). They would be compared with a representative sample of present adolescents (2019) in terms of their perceptions of society, family and school environment, their self-definition, self-evaluation, and self-regulation, their value orientation and future goals and plans, daily problems and coping strategies as well as their subjective well-being. We hypothesize differences between the mentioned generations based on social change. Compared to the former generations, we expect present adolescents to be less dependent on adult authorities, to have a more individualistic orientation toward future goals and higher levels of self-esteem and life satisfaction. We also expect more uncertainty in everyday life of current adolescents and less clear life perspectives for them.
