Rapid aging of the European population predicts a substantial increase in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) cases. Early detection is crucial, as emerging disease-modifying treatments promise the highest efficacy when administered before irreversible neural damage occurs. Subjective cognitive, affective, and behavioral symptoms have been established as promising markers reflecting the earliest functional changes related to AD. However, the distinct and combined roles of these symptom categories, their longitudinal dynamics across the predementia continuum, and the differential importance of self- versus informant reports at various predementia stages remain poorly understood. This project aims to systematically address these gaps by comprehensively profiling subjective cognitive, affective, and behavioral symptoms, from both self and informant perspectives, in a neuropsychologically well-characterized, biomarker defined and longitudinally followed sample of non-demented older adults.
