Conference "Technart 2019", article in conference proceedings: Fragments investigation of textile materials and textile fibres in the forensic area is a relatively challenging discipline, which places especially high demands on the professional erudition of the specialists who carry it out. The high-quality performance of expert activity of this type of track requires knowledge of textile technology and also trichology, microscopic techniques and other relevant instrumental techniques. In addition to these skills, however, the expert must also meet other requirements – for the purposes of interpretation of the research results must have deep knowledge about the behaviour of this kind of traces and have sufficient awareness of the possibilities and pitfalls of other areas of forensic examination. In the investigation of textile of art objects, it is mainly about the identification of textile material, fibres and possibly pigments or dyes by which the fibres are dyed. Obtaining this information is necessary for a comprehensive survey of the work. Identification of textile fibres from the supports of easel paintings is an integral part of the detection of counterfeits.
