Rules for the regular meteorological data quality control in the CHMI
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Automatization of meteorological stations has been in process in the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) since 1996. Nowadays there are more than 350 Automatic weather stations in the basic network and more than 100 stations in the supplementary station network. A huge amount of data is stored in the CLIDATA database system every day. It is necessary to do quality control and to correct errors in these data. There are a lot of irregular data quality control tools for routine using there. Regular data are not routinely controlled however. Several tools and applications for the regular data quality control and the data error detection have been created. These tools are implemented directly into the database. Applications are able to discover missing data and data exceeded defined limits or repeated values to compare the difference between two consecutive terms. There is a possibility to repair wrong regular data series caused by the plugged and subsequently cleaned rain gauges, to complete any short period of missing data of air temperature, relative humidity and other elements according to one or two reference stations. Anybody can easily compare daily sum of sunshine duration with hourly data and fill or correct missing or wrong values. Very useful is also comparison of one minute to ten minutes precipitation data. This contribution is connected with paper published in the Meteorological News (CHMI) as a result of an internal project solved by authors (Lipina et al. 2016).
