The publication represents information about Czech mountain forests describing their importance as a unique various ecosystems rich in species and providing an environmental protection in middle-European landscape. The most important ten forest natural regions is described according to natural and vegetation conditions including main particularities of certain area. A description of all Czech institutions interested in planning, forest management and protection of mountain forests is given in one of closing chapters of the book. Examples of forest maps used in practice, pictures of mountain forest soil profiles and a definition of mountain forest regions in the world are annexed in conclusion of the book.
