Utilization of the "atract and kill" method against codling moth (Cydia pomonella L., Lep.: Tortricidae)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The "attract and kill" strategy against codling moth (Cydia pomonella L.) was tested in a three-years field trial in an experimental apple orchard in Prague. Between 2001-2003, the efficacy of two products "Appeal (Bayer AG) and LastCallTM (IPM Technologies) based on combination of pheromone and insecticide was evaluated on plots with different size and initial population density of codling moth. Depending on tree size, one to three droplets of 50μl of tested product were applied twice per seasonbya specially developed system. In both 2001 and 2002 fruit injury as well as the population density of codling moth were considerably reduced. It was proved that "attract and kill" method can be used successfully on medium- and small-sized plots. Nevertheless, better biological efficacy was reached on plot with lower initial population density of codling moth.
